Rafael Leão's AC Milan future was a topic of speculation this summer transfer window, with the suggestion that he would be prepared to make the switch after being targeted by Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Leão's Situation at AC Milan
Leão, contracted until 2028, has not had a smooth campaign, ranging from altercations with previous managers Paulo Fonseca and Sérgio Conceição to being surprisingly left out for the last game of the 2024/25 season.
Although his release value is €175 million, it has been said that Milan would consider offers in the €100–130 million range.
Interest from Barcelona
Barcelona has been smitten with Leão for a long time and, as per reports, the player would love to play for the Catalan team.
Budget limitations and Milan's astronomical asking price have, however, put the brakes on a transfer.
This has not, however, stopped recent transfer movements in which Milan is willing to listen with prices ranging from €80 to €90 million on the negotiating table.
Bayern Munich's Position
Bayern Munich also had an interest in Leão, particularly after their failure to secure other options.
The German club is not apparently interested, though, due to Milan's exceedingly high price, which has been set at €120–130 million.
In the absence of a lowering of Milan's price, the transfer to Bayern does not seem imminent.
Conclusion
While Rafael Leão would appear to be eager to make a move into a new challenge, AC Milan's valuation is the stumbling block.
Barcelona and Bayern Munich are keeping tabs, but huge negotiations and financial incentives would have to be involved in any deal.
