As curtains close on the 2024/25 season, Barcelona's talented young star Pau Cubarsí gazed back fondly on a "very good season."

Through a season of growth, turmoil, and togetherness, the young defender believed Barça gave it everything they had on the pitch  though the greatest reward did manage to elude them.

It was a great season, the only thing that was lacking was the cherry on the top, which would have been winning the Champions League," Cubarsí said in the post-season interview that reflected satisfaction and ambition.

Just 17, Cubarsí has become the linchpin of Barcelona's defense.

Unflappable in pressure situations, perceptive in his positioning and fearless in big games, he's proven himself to be more than just a bright young prospect already a vital part of the team's future.

A Season of Progress and Pride

Although they were unable to raise the Champions League trophy, Cubarsí believes that the team experienced a great season for all competitions.

> "I believe we had a great season and gave everything on the pitch," he said. "We fought in every game and played with spirits high, and that gives us pride about what we have achieved."

Barcelona's Champions League semi-final campaign and strong domestic record have been taken as evidence of the return to past glories.

The newly assembled team around a nucleus of young homegrown talents harked back to the ideals and enthusiasm which originally made Barça the bane of Europe.

The Rise of a New Generation

Cubarsí's arrival has been symptomatic of this new era.

With other La Masia graduates like Lamine Yamal and Fermín López, he has brought energy, identity, and discipline to the Camp Nou.

He was employed in the game-changers, Champions League elimination games and La Liga games that counted and he performed at his best.

His work ethic on and off the field has turned him into not only an automatic first team player, but an inspiration to future players of the club.

Eyes on What's Next

While the season ends without a top title, there is no sense of disappointment — just determination.

"Proud, but not satisfied," said Cubarsí. "We will keep working, growing, and striving for more. This is just the beginning of something special."

Barcelona's bright young core has won over fans, critics, and rivals alike.

As they become wiser with experience, they are expected to contend for every major award and Cubarsí is already being billed as a star of the future and team leader.

Conclusion

Pau Cubarsí's words speak for a team that is in transition, a team proud of how far they've come, and restless with what lies ahead.

The Champions League might have slipped them this season, but with players like Cubarsí at the heart of it, the dream is alive and kicking.
